In a nutshell
- In Gifts, in the card at the top or under IBAN and MB WAY, type your IBAN.
- In Portugal? Answer Yes to MB WAY and type your number. It's optional.
- The guest sees the details after choosing a gift and also gets them by email.
- There's no commission: the money goes from the guest to you.
joinVows doesn't process gift payments. You add one IBAN and, if you like, one MB WAY number, and each guest sends a transfer or MB WAY from their own bank.
- 1
Open Gifts
Until you say where you receive the money, a card at the top asks Where would you like to receive gift money?. After that, your details are under the IBAN and MB WAY button at the top, and in the The list tab, with Edit.

Type your IBAN
You'll find it in your banking app, in your account details. Type it with or without spaces. We check it is written correctly: if a digit is missing or two are swapped, a note appears under it. If you type your NIB, we tell you to add PT50 at the start.
- 3
MB WAY, if you want it
Answer Yes to Would you also like to receive by MB WAY? and type your mobile number. MB WAY only works with a Portuguese number (9 digits, starting with 9). With No, guests don't see MB WAY anywhere. Press Save.

What happens on the guest's side
- They choose a gift and type their name and email.
- They see the amount, your IBAN and your MB WAY if you added it, with a button to copy each one, and the reference Gift from followed by their name. With an IBAN only, the site and the email only mention a bank transfer.
- They get the same details by email, to pay later.
Your payment details aren't written on the site's page. They only appear to someone who chooses a gift.
FAQ
Does joinVows keep any part of the money?
No. The money goes from the guest's bank to yours. We never see it.
How do we know the money arrived?
From your bank account or your MB WAY app. Then mark the gift received in Gifts. See Mark a gift as received.
Can we each add our own IBAN?
No. There's one IBAN and one MB WAY per couple, used for every gift.
We don't live in Portugal. Do we need MB WAY?
No. An IBAN from any country is enough. Answer No to the MB WAY question and guests only see the bank transfer.
